Des Harper
I’m Des, 72, from Belfast, but worked with a charity overseas for a few decades, living in India, Pakistan and 14 years on book exhibition ships. Now we’re living in Sheffield, closer to grandkids and their parents at this stage of life.
I had a heart attack some years ago, so apart from the aches which are par for the course, I need to be sensible about things like diet and activity. I played rugby at school and uni, and all sorts of other ball games when I could, so for me this is an enjoyable solution.
It’s good to have the regular exercise, egged on by the example of others. Keith’s well-organised programme, very sensitive to where we are physically, really helps to keep us mobile and warms us up for some friendly competition with a short game of walking football. Good fun, win or lose.
I’d definitely recommend these sessions to those who’d maybe like to preserve their senior mobility and footy skills!
